Upgrading to Banktivity 10

Prepare Your Existing Data

First, open your existing Banktivity data. At the top of the Banktivity window you will see the file name for the Banktivity Document you are using now. Please Control-Click on the file name at the top of the Banktivity window. Then click on the first folder below the file name. This should open the folder in a Finder window with your current Banktivity Document file selected. That's the Banktivity Document file you'll need to import into Banktivity 10.

Install and Open Banktivity 10

Next, open Banktivity 10 (download and install Banktivity 10 first if necessary – (https://www.iggsoft.com/banktivity/Banktivity10.dmg). When first opening Banktivity 10, you will be greeted with "Thanks for downloading Banktivity!"

Create New Ledger

To create a new ledger in Banktivity 10, select 'Already a customer? Log in', and log in to your Banktivity User Account. After you log in, you will be able to choose New Ledger from the Organizer window.

Import Your Data

If you choose to import your previous data into Banktivity instead, you can simply drag those previous documents onto the Organizer window in order to begin the process of importing them into a Banktivity 10 ledger. Alternatively, you can go to File > Import Banktivity Document...

Import Passwords (If Applicable)

If you are using Direct Download (OFX) you will be able to import the passwords for your accounts by clicking "Import Passwords". The password you need to enter in order to import your passwords into Banktivity 10 is the Admin/Login password for your Mac (this should be the same as the password you use when your Mac starts up. Enter the Admin/Login password for your Mac followed by clicking "Always Allow". If you have multiple accounts enabled for Direct Download (OFX) you will need to repeat this process of entering your password and clicking "Always Allow" multiple times.

All of your accounts, transactions, reports, budgets and other data should now appear in Banktivity 10.

Important Notes

Please note, your version 10 ledger is now stored in the library folder on your device and is no longer something you can choose to save in different locations.

Additionally, you will need to install Banktivity 10 on any of your iOS devices from the App Store before syncing with your iOS devices.
