Why have prices stopped downloading for some of my securities?

If you’ve noticed that some of your securities have stopped downloading quotes, you can troubleshoot the issue using the steps below:

First, check to make sure your security exchange is supported. We recently moved to a new quote provider called EOD Historical Data (EODHD). You can view a list of all supported exchanges here: https://www.banktivity.com/support/articles/ibank-for-ipad/which-stock-exchanges-are-supported-for-security-price-downloads/

Next, make sure you are also using the correct suffix for your securities. Canadian securities on the Toronto Stock Exchange that were previously using -CT will now need to be edited to use the suffix .TO.

To do this, click on Configuration > Securities, then double-click on the security you want to change the suffix for. In the popup window that appears, edit the symbol so the security ends in the correct suffix from the support article above.

Third, you will want to make sure your security is listed and you are using the correct symbol by checking on our quote provider’s website at eodhd.com.

If your security exchange is listed as supported, and you’ve verified you are using the correct symbol and suffix on eodhd.com, please reach out to our support team here.

If your security is not currently supported, you will need to manually update prices for it. For more detailed instructions on how to do that in Banktivity for Mac, please review the relevant section of our Help files here.

To update prices in iOS, start from the Summary screen and tap on the Investments section. That will take you to the Portfolio screen.

On the Portfolio screen, use the + and – icons to move forward or back in time to the date you want to enter a price for.

Then, tap on the blue text showing the price next to the security you want to update.

Enter the price you want, and tap Next. Continue updating prices until finished.
